Location: Shaoxing City, Zhejiang Province

Significance: The largest grid-side energy storage power station in Shaoxing dated July, 2024

The project site is 34.8 acres, with a total capacity of 100MW/200MWh, which is divided into two phases of construction, and the current phase is the second phase of 50MW/100MWh. The project can realize an annual discharge of more than 60 million degrees, save about 23,000 tons of standard coal, reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 72,000 tons. It gives full play to the role of the storage station as “shifting peaks to fill valleys”.

The project adopts Kehua 5MW PCS and MV transformer integrated solution. The intelligent forced air-cooling design enabled the system to adapt to complex environments while offering comprehensive internal and external protections. Additionally, it supports 110% overload, high/low voltage ride-through, VSG/PQ/VF/black start functions, and provides millisecond level response to grid scheduling. Furthermore, it demonstrates exceptional grid adaptability, ensuring the safe and stable operation of the power station.

The solution with an “all-in-one” design combining “converter” and “transformer” together, providing a unified external communication interface. The design successfully reduces the foot print, achieving a one-piece delivery, enhancing the convenience and efficiency of transportation, installation, commissioning, operation, and maintenance. Consequently, it effectively lowers the cost of LCOS and delivers increased value to customers.

During the project construction, Kehua team faced challenges such as tight deadlines and excessive rainfall in the spring and summer. However, the team remained customer-focused and closely collaborated with all parties involved and successfully completed the project on time and with high quality, earning unanimous praise from partners and the owner.

The commissioning of this project will significantly enhance the regulation capacity of the local power grid, addressing peak electricity demand in the region. In addition, it will provide strong momentum for Zhejiang Province to achieve its low-carbon goals.
