XIAMEN, China, Aug. 18, 2026 — Kehua held its 2026 Scholarship Awards Ceremony in Zhangzhou, honoring a new group of outstanding students and marking 30 years of sustained support for education and community development.
Since 1996, Kehua has contributed nearly RMB 15 million through its scholarship and teacher recognition initiatives, supporting almost 7,000 students and teachers. The ceremony brought together representatives from local government, education authorities, community organizations and Kehua, along with teachers and students.
Kehua’s scholarship story began in 1996, when the company established an initiative to support education in communities across Zhangzhou’s former revolutionary base areas.
In 2014, following Chen Jianping’s wish to support students, Huang Wanling, former vice chair of Zhangzhou Kehua Tech, established a second scholarship in his name. The two programs were consolidated under the Kehua scholarship initiative in 2021.
In 2023, Kehua broadened the initiative by recognizing outstanding teachers serving remote mountainous communities in Fujian and establishing an education assistance fund for students in remote communities in Sichuan. Together, these steps expanded the initiative from student scholarships to educator recognition and from local support to wider regional outreach.
At the ceremony, Zhangzhou Vice Mayor Chen Renchao and representatives from the local education sector recognized Kehua’s 30-year commitment and emphasized the role of education in supporting long-term regional development.
Kehua Chairman Chen Chenghui congratulated the scholarship recipients and encouraged them to approach the future with perseverance and a sense of responsibility.
“Stay resilient and keep improving,” Chen said. “Remember the support and guidance you have received, and when you are able, give back to your schools, hometowns and society.”
Student representative Zhang Yijie thanked Kehua on behalf of the recipients:
“This support has shown us that society continues to care about the growth of young people in these communities. Even in difficult times, we are never alone.”
He added that the students would remember the support, remain grounded and continue working toward their goals.
Over the past 30 years, what began as a local scholarship has grown into a lasting commitment to students, teachers and communities. Kehua will continue supporting education where it is needed, helping more young people pursue their aspirations and, in time, pass that opportunities on to others.
